Inspire and motivate your organization with one of the fun yet intensive workshops in our THE ANTHOLOGY PEOPLE™ series! All of the sessions below include a detailed participant handout; work with both small and large groups; and can be adapted to 2-hour, half-day, full-day and weekend intensive sessions. In addition, all will benefit experienced writers, yet require no writing experience or skill to enjoy and learn from.
Whether you choose to organize yours as a whole- or multi-day retreat or a brief weekday break, THE ANTHOLOGY PEOPLE™ workshops can be used to reward, refresh and energize your people…to help individuals affiliated with your company or group to get to know each other…and to gather content for an organizational anthology if you decide to create one. Either way, you’ll be surprised by how much new momentum a single session can produce.

WRITE BESIDE US: Amazing and transformative synergy happens when a group gathers to capture and share their organizational stories together. Melding instruction, participant dialogue and brief writing exercises based on powerful “prompts,” THE ANTHOLOGY PEOPLE™ Write Beside Us workshops guide participants to recall key moments with your organization and, in the process, explore its deepest gifts and values. You can choose to offer your Write Beside Us session for any group you like, focusing on either a single audience (for example, staff, volunteers or clients) or enjoying a diverse mix.
DOING THE WRITE THING: With some of the world’s most admired institutions recently seen straying from their core values, there’s never been a better time for your organization to clarify its most important principles and messages. How do your members’ everyday choices, at work and/or in the community at large, put the goals and gifts of your organization into practice? Working from your mission statement and guidance, Stories of You will select a single core value for exploration. With instructor commentary, participant dialogue and brief writing prompts, the group will capture, share and discuss what it means for those in your organization to “walk the walk” as well as “talk the talk.”
OUR REMARKABLE YEAR: Ideal for the forty-five days or so after the close of a calendar or fiscal year, this workshop from THE ANTHOLOGY PEOPLE™ guides participants to look back on the twelve-month period just ended and explore what they’ve learned from and done with your organization. How did they stretch, problem-solve, and gain new insight? What accomplishments were most transformative for them, individually and as a group? Closing with each participant jotting down some goals and hopes for the year to come, we wrap up a session that celebrates all that has just passed and helps participants define what it means to plan another “remarkable year” to come.
THE MENTOR THAT MATTERS: Everyone within your company or group, as well as the individuals and communities you serve, has at least one teacher, mentor, or role model within the organization—someone who has sparked new growth, revealed new insights, offered guidance on a pitfall faced, led the way on the path forward, and/or simply presented an example of excellence. Using our hallmark combination of instructor guidance, participant dialogue and brief writing prompts, we’ll explore these crucial mentors and all that they give. While many (even most) of the mentors participants describe will be organizational leaders, we won’t neglect the mentorship that can happen when a client or subordinate teaches us new truths.
